Brother Joseph C. Coleman was the founder of the Local Christian Assembly Church of New York City and was the Pastor for over 40 years. Pastor Coleman was ordained at the Branham Tabernacle on July 7, 1963. Brother Branham boldly looked down from the pulpit and asked: "Do you believe me, Sir, to be GOD's prophet?" The young man responded with a definite, "Yes!" Brother Branham then went ...

Founding Pastor

While attending a meeting at the Branham Tabernacle on December 30, 1962 and listening to the message "Sirs, Is This the Time", the Lord spoke to Brother Joseph Coleman saying, "When you return back to New York, start your church on January the 6th". The first service of the New York City Church was held in Brother Joseph Coleman's home at 1267 Findlay Avenue with Brother Orlando Hunte preaching ...

Church History

Brother and Sister Fiore came to the Local Christian Assembly in June 1964 and he was immediately appointed a deacon. In the 1960's & 1970's, he was an integral part of the Local Christian Assembly. This past weekend, the members of the Local Christian Assembly NY/PA elected for a change in the Pastorship of the church. Bro Branham clearly laid out in several messages that should the circumstance arise, where the overall direction of a church changes from its core principles, the people, as a sovereign body, are given the opportunity to decide if they wish to stay with that direction and leadership or not.

59-1227e - "A Super Sense"

16 It’s official, as long as the church. In our church, it’s the sovereignty of the church. The church moves, or puts in the trustee, the church moves the pastor, or puts in the pastor. Whatever it is, it is the church in all. That’s apostolic. That’s the way it was did in the Bible time. Therefore, we feel that no one person, then, is a dictator or something in the church. We don’t want that. Every man, every person, myself, in voting in anyone, and just got one vote, just like any other person of the church here, just one vote. Isn’t what I say; it’s what the church says, see, what the church says in the body. You like that? [Congregation says, “Amen...”—Ed.] I think that’s just Scriptural. That’s the way it should be.

As a result, the body of believers with an 82% majority vote elected to seek new leadership for the direction of the church as we move into 2018. As a result, Pastor Anthony Fiore, did address the church and resigned on Sunday December 3, 2017 from the position of Pastor. The entire church wishes to express their deep and sincere appreciation for his leadership and guidance these past five years and without him the church would not be where it is today. May the Lord continue to bless both Brother and Sister Fiore as they get a well-deserved rest.

The Church will move forward in the present truth of the current inspiration, keeping the sheep of God fed on the hidden manna preached by God’s five-fold ministry. On an interim basis the local church will remain under the guidance of the current Ministry; Bro Nathaniel Goyco, Bro Tim Smith, Bro David Puma and Bro Joel Clarke until such time that the Lord enlightens His selection for a replacement. When that time comes, the board will follow the process laid out by Brother Branham to ensure the most qualified man is nominated for the office of Pastor and the vote of the people will be the final say on the matter.

In love in Christ,

The Ministry Of LCA NY/PA
