Church History

Pastor Joseph C. Coleman

Brother Joseph C. Coleman was the founder of the Local Christian Assembly Church of New York City and was the Pastor for over 40 years. Pastor Coleman was ordained at the Branham Tabernacle on July 7, 1963.

Brother Branham boldly looked down from the pulpit and asked: “Do you believe me, Sir, to be GOD’s prophet?” The young man responded with a definite, “Yes!” Brother Branham then went on to tell him the very secrets of his heart. It was unmistakable by the enthusiasm in his voice: there was a fire beginning to grow inside the young minister that could not be quenched. He knew that there was something very special about the man who was speaking to him from the pulpit.

Later, Brother Branham ordained the young man, Joseph Coleman, as a minister of the Gospel and asked that GOD bless him and give him a fruitful ministry. The LORD did as Brother Branham requested. Over the years, Brother Coleman stood at his post of duty, pointing people around the world to the LORD JESUS CHRIST and the Message brought through HIS prophet, Brother Branham.

He has guided the development of a faithful staff of Ministers, Elders and committed workers who are devoted to the end time message of Malachi 4.

Reverend Coleman and his lovely wife Sister Elaine Coleman were married for over 55 years. They are blessed with three wonderful children, Joanne, Rebecca and Jonathan and six grandchildren, Ruth, Jason, Sarai, Philip, Dorcas and Ariel.

Brother Coleman has gone to be with the LORD JESUS. Our prayers are with the Coleman family, his Church, and the many thousands around the world who have been touched by his ministry.
